Sometimes I just can’t figure something out

Dec. 19, 2020 (Chapter 6 Living with a Memory Impairment in my book)

The other day, I realized that Christmas is less than a week away. Last weekend, I celebrated my twin granddaughter’s third birthday. I should have realized that it is coming soon, but for some reason it just didn’t click. My birthday is four days before Christmas and I hadn’t realized that it is two days from now. It is like I know or I am aware of these things, but it just doesn’t click. Perhaps I am not looking at the date on a daily basis. I could be just forgetting as soon as I realize the holiday is almost here. This could also be a lack of comprehension. Sometimes it is just a guessing game when I am trying to figure something out and I have a memory impairment. I’m not sure if there is a way to prevent this from happening again. Maybe from now on, I should use my interactive speaker to remind me about the holiday that is approaching.
