Sometimes it is difficult to get the words written down

Recently while I was working as a cashier at a retail store, I had to take some receipt paper and write my words down quickly before they were gone forever. Sometimes that is why my writing is so difficult for me. It is as if I have to catch the words before they slip away forever. It can be a very challenging process if the words are coming faster than I can type. I know that I have a small tape recorder but by the time I put it on and get it working, the words could be gone. Then I copied it over during my break, so that I could read it more clearly. That same night, as I was going to punch out at the end of my shift, the title just popped into my head. So, I quickly wrote it down and the poem was born. It ended up being the beginning of a poem that I wrote called Stages of Accepting my Diagnosis.
