June 29, 2020 (Chapter 23 Living with a Memory Impairment and Being a Nana in my book)
Today, I had a new granddaughter. Now I have been trying to get her name in my long-term memory. She has two-and-a-half-year-old twin sisters and I remember doing the same thing after they were born. Throughout my day I will just try to think of her name. Sometimes I can recall it quickly and other times it takes a little time but I do find it in my brain. I think that I will continue to do this until it comes to me more easily. The other day I was really struggling to remember her name. It took me a while but I finally figured it out. I'm trying to get her first and middle name into my long-term memory. I can consistently remember what letter they both start with so that is a good thing. It will just take some time. I think that I might also start writing her name out on pieces of paper. I know that I did that when the twins were born but I don't remember if it helped me to remember their names. This is all going on in my head. I am not talking out loud.
