July 9, 2019 (Chapter 4 Finding the Humor and Chapter 11 Stress and Anxiety Chapter 12 Navigating Relationships in my book)
I lose my train of thought quite often. Sometimes I am having a conversation with someone and I will suddenly forget what we are talking about. I will just say to them "what were we just talking about? I can't remember". There are times when I say it with a little humor in order to help keep my stress level down. Most of the time, once they tell me what we were talking about, I can respond to them. Sometimes I just can't remember what I wanted to say or I don’t really know how to respond. If this happens, we can just change the subject and talk about something else. If they know about my diagnosis, there is no issue with this. I think that if it is someone who doesn’t know about my diagnosis, I just try to make something up.
